Asheville North Carolina area fishing has remained strong going into our summer season! Trout and smallmouth bass are taking up their summer lies making them vulnerable to the savvy angler. The smallmouth rivers are starting to drop to optimal levels, exposing lots of new rocks to cast around. The smallmouth have been biting best in the heat of the day- which seems odd since temps have been close to 90 degrees in western North Carolina. Baitfish imitations with some chartreuse and white have been most effective. The South Holston and Watauga Rivers have been providing good summertime trout fishing with sulfer mayflies, terrestrials, and midges keep rods bent all day long! We are already booking fall dates, so don't wait to set up your next fishing adventure!
